Shredding & Baling

Tandom utilises an UNTHA shredding line for the processing of light gauge materials, such as used beverage cans or food packaging.

This plant shreds the material down to a 50mm particle size, the ferrous fraction is then removed using an overband magnet, finally an eddy current separator removes the aluminium, separating it from any remaining waste material, ready for further recycling.

The resulting aluminium can be de-lacquered, baled or fed in to our own furnaces.

Tandom also operates two baling plants which can process material into compact, easily handled or transported bales.
