Andy has worked with Metals since leaving college, transitioning from an engineering background in his earlier years to a commercial role for most of his working career which makes him acutely aware that the team is the important thing in running any business.
Director
The majority of Mike’s working life has been spent in the aluminium industry, and he’s been a director of several aluminium recycling companies. A Chartered Chemist, he’s experienced in all aspects of the aluminium process and worked in the US for a few years before returning to the UK to join Tandom in 2009.
Mike manages a number of key accounts and drives the latest technologies and strategies to ensure Tandom remains a key player within the industry. He is also currently president of industry trade body Alfed.
Managing Director (Midlands)
Founder of Tandom Midlands and Managing Director. Nick has unrivalled expertise in all aspects of International Scrap Metals trade. During his 30 year career, Nick has served on the board of the Bureau of International Recycling.
Director
Rob has worked in the metals industry for over 25 years. He began his career as a production manager before progressing into Aluminium sales roles. Rob is now a Director of Tandom Metallurgical, based at our metal recycling plant in Congleton, Cheshire.

Liam has worked in the scrap metal industry for over 20 years, including the production of secondary aluminium, Ferro Titanium and master alloys. Liams role at Tandom is focused on operations at the Congleton site.
Financial Director
Darren has been an accountant since 1999. He spent over ten years working in practice before transitioning to industry, with Tandom, in 2010. Darren oversees the finance department and has experience in virtually all aspects of finance and accounting management, including financial reporting, budgeting, financial modelling and analysis, business planning and process improvements.
Trader
Harry’s been in the scrap metal industry for nearly 5 years. Working out of both our Congleton and Midlands offices, Harry’s primary role is to develop new supply chains for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, as well as ensuring quality stipulations are met on incoming deliveries.

Bringing two decades of experience in the special metals industry, Craig’s expertise lies prominently within the aerospace and vacuum-grade alloy domains. Craig’s in-depth knowledge provides a commercial perspective to daily operations. Craig focuses on building long-term relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure seamless workflows and sustained growth.

Rick joined Tandom in 2011 and has worked in various operational roles. Recently, he took on a commercial role and now leads special metals procurement across all grades. His extensive background gives him a nuanced perspective to navigate the market complexities with finesse. Rick’s expected to make significant contributions to Tandom’s continued success in special metals acquisition.
Trader
Having previously worked for FE Mottram, Joe has been with Tandom since its inception. He trades in all grades of aluminium and non-ferrous metals, but specialises in UBC scrap, handling commercial contracts on both the procurement and sales of the material. Joe’s worked in a number of roles within the company, and so brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his position.

Perry brings a robust 25-year tenure in the metals industry to Tandom since his arrival in 2024. With a deep understanding of external markets, Perry specialises in the purchase and sale of non-ferrous metal commodities on a global scale. His expertise spans a range of metals, including chromium, copper, manganese, magnesium, silicon, titanium and zinc positioning him as a pivotal asset in navigating international trade dynamics and driving success for Tandom and its clientele.

Having moved from manufacturing to scrap metal over 16 years ago, Stuart has worked in the metals industry since University. In addition to non-ferrous metal trading, he oversees the Group’s ferrous scrap activities, which mainly encompasses supplying domestic Iron and Steel Foundries with new production arisings.

Nick has worked in the metals sector since college, acquiring over 25 years’ experience in copper alloy ingot manufacturing . Nick has substantial expertise in all aspects of Metallurgy and oversees the supply of more specialist grades of Copper, Brass and Bronze to Domestic and European Foundries.

Derek has worked in the non-ferrous metals industry for over 40 years, running his own business for the majority of that time. He joined Tandom in 2018 and brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the team, with particular specialist experience in skimmings, residues, grindings and similar materials needing further copper refining.
